faith and bobby’s “party of love” might have to go down as one of the biggest parties we’ve covered to date. faith and bobby are both local musicians and artists, and met through mutual friends after playing shows together. when we first got together to discuss the big day, the couple told us they wanted a family affair for their ceremony, but their reception was going to be one big party, with an open invite to all of their friends and fellow musicians.
what we love about this wedding, as has been the theme the past few we’ve done, is the amount of creative talent that went into the design of all of the details of the day. the couple decided to create a one-of-a-kind art piece for their invitation, using Bobby’s hand drawing of the couple, Faith’s handwriting (in lieu of a led zepplin font they couldn’t find) and the help of scott vogel of laser cutting shapes. the result was part-invitation, part-art. in addition to laser cutting the invitation, the couple used scott’s help to laser cut their names and wedding date onto a very special bridal party gift: nunchucks.
the couple’s wedding took place at the newly built grange audubon center on whittier peninsula, just overlooking downtown columbus. in addition to the event space, the audubon center sits on 5 acres of bird heaven… from indigenous grasses, to marshland, a climbing wall, a climb-able water tower, and a boardwalk. and we took advantage of everything this place had to offer – from the jungle-gym for the bridal party portraits, to the vast green spaces for the couple’s portraits. we love what this place has to offer!
